Faux Paw Farm Open House and Play Day

January 24, 2008 by bryan

Our favorite trainer Trish Wamsat is having an event Saturday, February 2nd.

Details:

FAUX PAW FARM 516 Dougherty Ave. Morgan Hill, CA 95037 650-534-5030 AdobeDogs@gmail.com

Bring your, non-aggressive, 4 legged best friend and any 2 and 4 legged friends that would enjoy a day of fun in the sun (hopefully).

Come for a day of off-leash play on our 2.5 acres, completely enclosed by a six foot cyclone fence, for safety.

There will be lots to do…. try out the agility course, buy one of Trish’s books (Choosing and Raising a Puppy…HOW HARD COULD IT BE???) and have it signed, enjoy refreshements, meet the chickens and goats, watch the dogs dig for gophers, enjoy great company, win prizes and more!

UPDATE:

Due to our recent, severe weather, we are canceling the open house with an eye toward rescheduling in April.

Fancy Feet

Fancy Feet in San Carlos is a small groomer that offers the feel of a well run family business. When you first enter the shop, there is a small retail space at the front, but the rest of the store behind the counter is grooming space. There are several grooming stands as well as the kennels for the waiting puppies. It’s really nice to have the open area where you can see how all of the puppies are being treated. No howls emanating from a back room that you’ll never see to leave you with doubts about what they’re doing to your dog.

The grooming we had done was professional, didn’t take too long, and was very reasonably priced.

Planet Pooch in Redwood City

January 21, 2008 by bryan

Planet Pooch is an upscale boarding facility with locations in Redwood City and South San Francisco. They offer kennel-less boarding where the dogs aren’t locked up into little crates, but allowed to move about in a more natural pack style. Each location has several rooms for separating the different packs, little dogs, big dogs, active dogs. They offer a great way to board or daycare your puppy while you’re away. We’ve always found that our puppy comes home happy and exhausted after each visit and yet can’t wait to go back the next time.

There’s a New Pet Smart in San Carlos

January 21, 2008 by bryan

The new Pet Smart has opened up in San Carlos next to the Best Buy by the 101 off of the Whipple exit. It’s a very large store and everything in it is brand new. Parking is a little difficult to get through because that entire block of stores has to funnel through a tight entrance with a single light. Overall, it’s a very pleasant experience. They have most of the major brands of foods in all sizes. A good selection of most everything you could need for your puppy. The staff still seem to be getting up to speed though, not a whole lot of personalized help. Hopefully that’ll change as the staff settles in.

The store also offers training classes, boarding, and grooming. I can’t vouch for the quality of any of these services yet, but it’s nice to see the services offered. I’ll follow up as I get more info.

Bay Area Puppy is a new site designed to bring you the best in information and reviews about all of the things you need in the Bay Area to raise a puppy. We’ll be posting regular reviews of groomers, parks, hospitals, stores, and anything else that you might be interested in.

We’ll be slowly building our database of puppy related items as we go and would love to hear your feedback as to what types of things you’re interested in. We’re setting up forums as well so that you can discuss your thoughts and ideas with other dog owners in the Bay Area here.
